The Democratic Party email today is focused on one of the most obviously corrupt and shameless blowhards in politics today, Tom "Fuck Ethics" DeLay. The amount of scandals this guy's involved in or is being investigated about is amazing and disgusting.
Its also hard to follow so the Democratic Party was kind enough to put together a site that will help identify his many, many misdeeds, lies and corruption. They have it at the DNC Special Reports: Tom DeLay Case File.

In No-Shit-Sherlock News: "Dead Wrong" on WMDs in Iraq
Validation's nice and all but this isn't really news, is it? Report: U.S. Intelligence 'Dead Wrong' on Iraq.
What would be news if if our asshole in charge would admit that he hoodwinked a nation (and nations, don't forget Poland!) into an illegal war for oil.
When do the impeachment proceedings begin? I mean, there's plenty of media to cover it now that Terri's passed.

More Lies from Former Press Corps/Gay Prostitute Jeff Gannon/James Guckert
Via Daily KOS, and uncorroborated as of now but still well worth a post, NO Military Service for Gannon/Guckert. So, among this moron's many, many other lies, he has also, apparently, been lying about having been a Marine.
Which means that there are a whole bunch of relieved Marines who are going to now be looking to stomp on his lying ass. Why lie about military service? Why say you were in the Marines? Why not the Army? The fury of folks would be alot more muted if he'd just gone with the basic low-level lie. But no, he had to go big.
A conservative associate has said "So what? What's the big deal?" The big deal is that pretty much this guy's entire life has been lies.
And yet, he's being paraded around by the GOP like some fucking HERO when he's a self serving bitch prostitute selling his mouth, ass or voice to the highest bidder.
That he was planted in the White House Press Corps is really pretty damned funny. I bet they're next plant will have a pretty damned thorough background check before the let him loose. Maybe they'll get a real journalist this time or a real soldier or a real man?

Questions for Jeff Gannon: Blogged Down
In an attempt to figure out how in the hell a wholly unqualified gay escort got access to the most powerful people in the world, The New York Times "Interviews" James Guckert/Jeff Gannon.
And finds out, pretty well nothing. Except that he no longer considers himself as James Guckert. He also expresses hope that, most likely, Fox News will hire him for one its shows or so he can be a political analyst (since he's got no experience or credentials there either, its a safe bet he'll have his own show within 6 weeks).
He doesn't come clean on anything, doesn't clear the air on anything and basically is just asking for some sympathetic GOPerative to give him a job so he can continue being a paid mouthpiece. Funny, he was paid for using his mouth as a gay escort too (not that there's anything wrong with being a prostitute, though it might be a stretch to expect a gay-hatin' GOP to hire you).
He's a gay traitor too, nice! Won't stand up for your gay brethren or even take a stand on gay marraige. What a (man) pussy!

Slowly Being Trained to Accept a Culture of Finks
Hungry Media Fill Up on Rice
Poignant quote: We're always under surveillance; cameras watch us wherever we go; paparazzi make small fortunes snapping glamour goddesses picking their noses; everything is on tape, with transcripts available. No matter who you are, someone is ready and willing to rat you out. Even the rats themselves have to look over their shoulders, because some smaller rat is always waiting in the wings. Bloggers are the new Stasi. All the timidity this engenders, all this watching your mouth has started to feel positively un-American.

GOP Starts Assault on Arctic National Wildlife Refuge
ShrubCo is set on ripping a nice big hole in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Why? Because they are oil mad morons who think that they can do any damned thing they want. Why not? John Kerry was kind enough to provide four good reasons why not.
The second reason is plenty enough for me though. Destroying a pristine wilderness for a six month supply of oil that we'll get in 10 years? That doesn't just not compute, its fuckin' moronic.
- The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge's 19 million acres comprise one of the last places on earth where an intact expanse of arctic and sub arctic lands remains protected.
- Drilling in the Arctic Refuge can't make even a small dent in meeting America's energy needs. U.S. Geological Survey scientists estimate that there is very likely only enough oil to supply America's needs for six months. And oil companies admit that, even that, won't be available for at least 10 years.
- An irreplaceable natural treasure, the Arctic Refuge is home to caribou, polar bears, grizzly bears, wolves, golden eagles, snow geese and more. Millions of other birds use the Arctic Refuge to nest and as a critical staging area on their migratory journeys.
- Of course, the Arctic Refuge supports more than wildlife. For a thousand generations, the Gwich'in people of Northeast Alaska and Northwest Canada have depended on it and lived in harmony with it. To them, the Arctic Coastal Plain is sacred ground.

Bush's California Budget Busting
From a DNC email from earlier this week. Well worth a read and recognizing just what Bush has in store for this state. And he likes and fears Arnold! What would happen if we had Gray Davis going toe to toe with the Tard from Texas?
Here's the breakdown:
Homeland Security
* The Bush 2006 budget cuts $420 million to state and local funding for homeland security, including a $84.6 million cut for California. These cuts will take police and firefighters off your streets.
* The Bush budget cuts the COPS program, which has put 15,801 officers on California streets, by 96 percent.
Health Care
* The Bush budget cuts $45 billion from Medicaid, enough to provide health care to 1.8 million children. California's share of these cuts is $4.7 billion.
* Bush's budget cuts the very same community and rural health care programs he touted during the campaign, even though more than 200,000 California residents have lost their health care coverage since Bush took office due to his failures.
Education
* Bush underfunds his own No Child Left Behind Act by $13.1 billion in his budget. In California, that means a shortfall of $1.7 billion, leaving behind 420,086 California children.
* Bush promised to fund Pell Grants in his State of the Union address, but his budget is $6.6 billion short. That's $759.9 million less than what's needed in California, a real burden for the 528,609 students in California who receive the grants.
Other Priorities
* Bush cuts $12.5 million from California job training programs in his 2006 budget.
* The Bush budget would require many veterans to pay a new $250 annual "user fee" to use the Veterans Administration health care system, and would double the prescription drug co-payment for the 2,569,340 California veterans.
* Bush cuts California clean water programs by $27.6 million.
* Bush's 2006 budget also cuts the Low Income Heating Energy Assistance Program -- which helps low-income families afford heating fuel in the winter -- by $234.4 million, including $10.5 million cut for California residents.
And Bush's irresponsible budget is a record $427 billion in the red, increasing each California family's share of the federal debt by $39,010.
Take Action
Take action today to help stop Bush's disastrous budget in its tracks. Write a letter to the editor of your local paper explaining why Bush's budget is such a disaster for America.

A 3 1/2 Year Headstart
Bush: Stopping Bin Laden 'Greatest Challenge' which, you know, is utterly fucking ridiculous.
The tragedy of 9/11 happened nearly three and a half years ago and now its time to go after bin Laden? Why? What's changed? Did he forget to send you his $100 million bribe this year? Did his family forget to send you that special barrel of super sweet crude?
"Bin Laden's message is a telling reminder that al Qaeda still hopes to attack us on our own soil," Bush said. "Stopping him is the greatest challenge of our day."
Yeah, it should have been the very first damned thing we did after 9/11. Or hey, how about detaining his family members in the US and questioning them before secretly flying them out home? Or how about not launching an illegal war on false premises in Iraq when the US was already in hot pursuit of bin Laden in Afghanistan?
Mr. Bush, your words, as usual, ring false and are hollow. You lie and say it is truth. You vilify your enemies and then play coy when they don't rush to congratulate you on your "victory". You say you'll reach out but the hand holds a knife, not an open promise of cooperation. You are a bad, bad president.
Notwithstanding all of the arguments that 9/11 was a response to the US's foreign policy in the Middle East and the subsequent pain and suffering our actions and inactions have caused. I'm not saying we deserved 9/11, nobody deserves what happened on that day. But calling it the first blow in the war is ludicrous. This wasn't an unprovoked attack, this was a response.
Bin Laden still deserves to be caught and tried for his crimes against our nation, that's not in question. But until we as a nation address the underlying reasons for the attack, we will always be at risk.
