This administration is so desperate for something good that they're making news about utterly ridiculous garbage like US rules out inhumane treatment of prisoners abroad. Which is, like, wow, no effing-shit, go out on a limb and no more torture of POWs abroad.
Are they kidding? This is un-news, this is spin, this is the Bush Administration trying to find something positive to glom onto because the polls are showing a relentlessly diving approval rating for Bush and his little pet war. Americans no longer believe the president though many of us have never believed this president.
Coming out against torture of POWs is about as newsworthy as saying they found out that we need air to breath to stay alive. Its garbage news.
Let's make sure the media stays focused on what is really news. The indictment of Libby, the continuing investigation into other senior White House officials, the widespread web of lies used to initiate the quagmire that is the War in Iraq, the corruption of Republican officials (DeLay anyone? Frist anyone?) and the selling of the US to corporate interests.
