GOP Realizes that DeLay is Not Worth Saving

The G.O.P. Will Relent on Ethics Rules, House Speaker Says because, well, they know Tom DeLay is going down and the sooner he goes, the better.

Here's the skinny, the GOP changed the rules of the Ethics Committee so that a deadlock results in an investigation stalling. Kind of stupid to think it would work, especially with a corrupt asshat like DeLay. But hey, props for trying.

Now they are going to relent and change the rules back to where they were and are supposed to be, because even the densest of Republican loyalists must be starting to realize that Tom DeLay is not going to escape from this quagmire. And he shouldn't, the guy has taken so many kickbacks and payoffs that he doesn't even see them as being wrong in any way. He's a for-sale politician with a really shiny face (never trust a politician with a shiny face, or any politician for that matter). It's time to send him home, America. Or send him to jail, that would be fine too.

But it sure is nice to know that Bush is publicly acknowledging his close friendship to a really corrupt dinkface. If you associate with scum, you are, for all intents and purposes, scum yourself. Something to remember.
